A Hodgepodge of Links (4)

I never get to these as quickly as I would like, but I still like to share interesting things I see popping up on blogs.

Heather at Tales From a Capricious Reader has started a great and yummy new feature on Farmer’s Markets called Saturday’s Farmers Market. I absolutely love seeing all the posts filled with gardens and  rows and rows of fruits and vegetables.

I enjoyed the interview at My Friend Amy with Jenny Meyerhoff. I have a new addition to my TBR as a result of this.

I am still on the fence about reading all of The Passage, though I do intend on reading the first few chapters, but Jen has got me thinking I might take the plunge and read another zombie book with her review of Feed.

So far I have not been over to see who I write like, but many people have taken the plunge and it has been great fun to see the results.

The Happiness Project recommend reading a good book to boost your happy factor.  I find I do that from time to time.

The Science Fiction Hall of Fame is inducting Octavia Butler.  I absolutely love her book Kindred, though I haven’t yet read any of the others.

The Got Books Event is coming up really soon.  July 23-July 24.  Check out Danielle’s post about it, there is still time to sign up to host a giveaway. There will be tons of books given away at 100 or so participating blogs.  I am putting together  the list for the box of books that I will be giving away.  This event should be great fun.

Graphic novels are taking over the world an now Hofstra University is offering a course teaching how to write them.

Molly at My Cozy Book Nook has a series on her blog that I love called Life Is A Verb, based on a book that she read by the same name.  It is fabulous.

Lenore is going back to the world of dystopian novels for the full month of August this time.

Last week I interviewed Beth Hoffman on That’s How I Blog!, and this week I will be chatting with Pam from Bookalicio.us about her blog and the book Beautiful Creatures.

The Book Review Blog Carnival is up at Busy Moms Love To Read.

  3. Fun links! I’m a huge fan of Heather’s Saturday Farmer’s Market feature. I can’t get enough of food and gardene posts. Looking forward to checking out some of these other linkies!

  4. I’m SLOWLY making my way through The Passage. It is hard to find time to listen to audio when I am amongst family 24/7. My only opportunity is when I walk. Yesterday, my son (God bless him) wanted to walk with me so he could pitch the reasons why he needed a particular video game. I shut him down. I need that walking time or I will lose my mind. I really liked the first part, but am finding the second part (far into the future after the virals have had their way with civilization) to be a little slower. We will see.

  5. I saw some rumblings about the “who do you write like” scenario on Twitter but admit I didn’t take part in it either. Thanks for sharing the awesome links.
