I have committed myself to a number of challenges this year, and I figure that the halfway point in the year would be a good time to check in and see just how well or how poorly I am doing with what I had set out to accomplish. I am hoping that I will have made more progress than I had expected in some areas, and that some pattern will emerge let me know what I can continue with and hope to complete, and challenge dreams that I just need to release.

Looks like you are doing just as well as I am with the TBR challenge. What is it that keeps us from reading those books?
Trisha´s last [type] ..Movie Review- The Spirit
Hmm. I think once books have been around for a certain period of time it’s really hard to get to them. No matter how hard I try.
It looks like you’re doing pretty good to me! I’ve done great on a couple and totally bombed on a few more, but I figure that’s how it goes.
It looks like you’re doing a great job. I sometimes struggle with challenges, so I decided not to sign up for so many this year. I realize though that it’s about trying to push myself in new ways. You look like you’re well on your way!
Becky´s last [type] ..Review- Definitely Dead by Charlaine Harris
Becky, I tried to hook my challenges into things I naturally wanted to read this year. That seems to have helped because I have paid zero attention to challenge lists.
Nicole, have you read Song Yet Sung by James McBride? I really loved that book.
Mary, I didn’t realize that he wrote fiction as well. Thanks for recommending this. I will make sure to find a copy.
Haha! No problems on the historical fiction!!! I just finished Unaccustomed Earth a couple of days ago. Don’t you just LOVE her writing? I haven’t written the review yet, because I’m just not sure I can find enough words that mean “grace” and “beauty”. We need to get you going on audios though. I bet you got a nice long list of them during Audiobook Week. I know I did. I have about ten of them on order from the library!
Sandy´s last [type] ..101 Things I Learned in Film School – Neil Landau and Matthew Frederick
You aren’t doing too bad. I’ve failed on a couple I really, really wanted to do (including my own Sookie challenge), but such is life. Challenges should be fun.
Beth F´s last [type] ..Weekend Cooking- The Asian Barbecue Cookbook by Alex Skaria
wow – you must love Historical Fiction, yes? Good luck with your year of challenges! Cheers
Looks like you are making good progress…happy reading.
