That’s How I Blog! Chat With Jen Forbus of Jen’s Book Thoughts

That’s How I Blog! is my talk show (now podcast) where I interview bloggers about what they read growing up, what’s on their bookshelves and how they fell into the world of blogging. It’s in a bit of transition as I try to figure out the best way to host it and where (it could possibly end up being here permanently), but in the meantime, I am still recording shows. I will be posting them here until I can get all of the details sorted. I have long been a reader of Jen Forbus’ blog Jen’s Book Thoughts. I am in awe of the depth of knowledge that she brings to her reviews and blog. She knows so much about mystery and crime fiction that when Amy and I were doing podcast on international mysteries, she was the first person we thought of to help give up some grounding in the genre. In fact, when I chatted with Jen last week, it was very difficult for me to NOT spend the entire time picking her brain about the future of mysteries, developing trends and books that I should read. We did manage to chat some about her blog, her library and a special project she has going on this summer.

That’s How I Blog! Chat With Sandy Nawrot (You’ve GOTTA Read This)

I can’t even remember any more just how long I have been reading Sandy’s blog, You’ve GOTTA Read This, but I love reading her (often funny) take on an eclectic mix of books and audio. We spent time chatting about her true crime habit, how audiobooks have revolutionized her life and taken a dive in the pool. I was also able to wrangle five books from her that are must reads. They were slow in coming, so you have to listen to the end to get them all.

I’m a stay-at-home mother of two. Despite the insanity of my life, I always find time to read…it is my outlet and my passion. I also love to cook and appreciate a good glass (or bottle) of wine.

That’s How I Blog! Chat With Allie (Hist-Fic Chick)

That’s How I Blog! is my long missing talk show where I interview bloggers about what they read growing up, what’s on their bookshelves and how they fell into the world of blogging. It’s in a bit of transition as I try to figure out the best way to host it and where (it could possibly end up being here permanently), but in the meantime, I have been steadily recording shows. I will be posting them here until I can get all of the details sorted.

I recorded this show a few months ago, when Allie from Hist-Fic Chick had just moved out to California. I met Allie last year at BEA and we quickly became very good friends over a shared loved of books, wine and fine dining. It helped that she lived right across the park from me and could always be lured out to drink and eat pretty regularly. Listening to this interview reminded me (as if I needed reminding) of just how awesome she is and how much I miss her. If you love historical fiction or you think you might love historical fiction you should definitely tune in because Allie gave a TON of great recommendations of historical fiction. We also chatted about some of those racy historical fiction covers, which historical recipes Allie has tried out, what she read as a little girl, if she will ever be able to color code her bookshelves, and much, much more.
