Welcome Readers and Cheerleaders! You’ve made it to hour 5. That is fantastic! Your probably need a little break and some fun right about now, so this one is for you – and you have from 12PM EST – 4PM EST, 4 hours, to do it. After that I will choose two winners at random; the first winner selected will receive a prize pack of 3 ARCs and the latest novel by Joe Nesbo, The Devil’s Star. The ARCs are: Neverland by Douglas Clegg, The Daughters of Witching Hill by Mary Sharratt, and Claude and Camille by Stephanie Cowell, the second winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to any online bookseller of choice which allows gift cards to be sent via e-mail.
So do you remember Seymour from Little Shop of Horrors? He was the one who fed the creepy plant. And similarly I am asking you to feed me. I don’t want dead bodies or anything (that’s what that plant ate!) but I want to know all about the food that you’re eating reading about. For a little break and some good times, check out the plant singing Feed Me, Seymour below. I know I did this last time. But it’s a fun break, right! I looked at it again this morning and was charmed/appalled all over again.
When the batter was just right – not too thick and not too runny – we arranged apple slices like a fan unfurling around the bottom of a pan she had greased with butter. Continuing to whip the batter, she poured it over the apples, sprinkled sugar over the top , and slipped the pan into the oven.“Now we can have our coffee.” She sank down on the bench with a sigh and a contented grin. “We’ll smell it when it’s done.”
I Just Wanna Sit Here and Read is hosting a mini-challenge this hour, as well. Have fun today everybody! Looking forward to seeing all the yummy food.
