Fun Fact ~ Ostensibly

Ostensibly

I love this word!  I can never really remember what it means.  I just get a sense of when it’s the right time to use it.  You know what I mean?  Sometimes I panic and look it up just to make sure that I am using it correctly, and I often am. It makes me very happy just thinking about it.  I wish I were kidding, but I am not.  I spent a few minutes the other day musing on the word and how much I love it. I actually caught myself thinking about it! It was a little weird.  But there it is.  I’m amped because I am about to use it in my review for Testimony by Anita Shreve.  Good times.  Is there a word that makes you feel similarly?

I’ll make sure to look for it in your review!

My word is “eclectic.” I have no idea why — I love it, and I use it whenever I can!

Kathy~ I was excited, because it’s not a word you can use often. So when I see the opportunity I go for it.
Beth~ Eclectic is a good one too. I went through a phase with “absolutely”.

This may well be the cutest post I’ve ever read! I have these secret little love affairs with words, too. I really smiled about when you said you sometimes go look it up to make sure you used it right. Such a familiar feeling…I’ll be all happy with myself for using some cool word, and then start doubting myself and have to go look it up to make sure I didn’t just make a total fool of myself. :)
