Introducing: That’s How I Blog!

Thats How I Blog Introducing: Thats How I Blog!I am very, very nosy about other book bloggers- how they read their books, how they run their blogs, what they like to do when they’re not reading and blogging, what they sound like! Back in April I start kicking around the idea of a twice weekly show about books, blogging and reading (including having panel discussions on books).  I get to get all up in their business and you get to call in with your questions…and get all up in their business! Sounds fun, right? Right.  That’s what I thought too.

In May I talked to book bloggers attending BookExpo America about willingness to participate in such a venture  and the response was overwhelmingly positive; but I in the hazy, lazy days of summer I just wasn’t able to get it together.  Finally, I decided that I had to just jump in with both feet.

I am very excited about the October 27th, launch of That’s How I Blog!, a show exploring books bloggers and their blogging experiences.

From Tuesday, October 27th – Tuesday January 12th, I will be doing a trial run of 12 shows, after which I will decide whether to continue and whether to expand, and what that entails and will look like.  In the meantime, take a look at the guests I have confirmed dates with so far.  I am so excited!

Trish, Hey Lady! Whatcha Readin’?

Kathy, BermudaOnion

Beth, Beth Fish Reads

Michelle, Galley Smith

Amy, My Friend Amy

Jenn, Jenn’s Bookshelves

Dawn, She is Too Fond of Books

Meg, Write Meg!

&

Lenore, Presenting Lenore

I will be talking with Trish of Hey Lady! Whatcha Readin’? on Tuesday, October 27th at 9PMEST/6PMPST. Please visit the show webpage to schedule a reminder.  You won’t want to miss it!

I need your help!

  • Do you know and have  questions for any of these lovely ladies? If you do, please let me know what they are by e-mailing me at nicole [at] linussblanket [dot] com.  I’ll be doing as much research into their blogs as possible for each show, but let me know if there is anyplace in particular that I should be looking.
  • Call in with questions! The fun about doing a radio show is that we get to hear each other’s voices, and actually talk!  If only we could just eat too, it would be perfect.  But, baby steps.
  • Consider being my guest!  I still have a few spots for which  I’ve been unable to confirm guests, so if you read books and blog about them- then I would love to hear from you. I’ll also hopefully be expanding after January 12th (fingers crossed, it’s quite possible I could suck at this) so I’ll need lots of fresh blood people to chat with.
  • Do you know of any community events or interesting books news that I can announce? E-mail me.
  • If you’re on Twitter, you can follow and receives news on show guests, topics and other updates at @thatshowiblog .
  • Spread the word!  I need guests, I need questions, I need listeners, I just need…so let others know and I might be able to love you more than I already do, which is actually a tall order because I just adore all of my silent and not so silent readers and contributors to Linus’s Blanket!

Thanks so much!

I love this. I think you have a great idea and I hope it goes beyond your trial of 12. Now that I’ve met some bloggers in real life, I know that searching the victim’s — er, um, guest’s — blog is a great way to get the needed background to ask some great questions and get a conversation started. Good luck!

I’m both gratified and a little bit scared to be part of your trial run. LOL

Now everyone is going to know I have a high pitched squeaky voice. It’ll be horrifying! haha

That aside, this is a phenomenal idea and one I already think you should go beyond the 12 session trial run. I’m super excited to hear from all the other bloggers. Congrats and good luck on this.

You can sign up to be reminded of the show at the link above and then listen live from BlogTalkRadio. I don’t think you have to sign uo for BTR unless you want to call in and make a comment. Ir you can go to the show later and listen there.

  12. How fun! I can’t wait. I’ll brain storm some questions. And I would totally be you guest (even though I hate the sound of my voice!)

I also want to know if it will be recorded. For those of us who aren’t good at making deadlines, a written version would also be nice. Don’t know if that’s possible; I’m registering enthusiasm!

    • Nicole says:

It will be a recorded and you’ll be able to down load as a podcast as you like! No written version, but if I am brave enough to listen , I might do a guide to some specific moments of the call.

  16. Ti says:

Fantastic idea! I am sort of nosey when it comes to bloggers. I’m not sure the time will work for me as I have a horrid commute but I am hoping it will be recorded to be heard at a later date???

This is such a great idea! I’m in the wrong time zone for it unfortunately, I’ll be sleeping through them, but I’ll be sure to listen afterwards. I’d volunteer otherwise – let me know if you’d be willing to do a special earlier edition at some point in the future! ;)

  22. Melanie says:

Oh, I forgot to add…it might be fun to have some “set” questions (you may already be planning to do that). You could come up with some more interesting ones than these, but for example- favorite book, favorite word, least favorite word, other hobby, pet peeve …whatever you like. :)

  23. Lisa Damian says:

Great idea Nicole, looking forward to listening, and I am really enjoying your site! But… one question, why aren’t you interviewing any male book bloggers (like me)?

    • Nicole says:

I am totally up for interviewing male bloggers. They are few and far between in the books blogging world so I am glad you are making yourself known. E-mail me so that we can talk about you coming on the show.
