  1. I hope you have a great week in books!

Lionheart was such a great book for me, and my first Penman! I hope that you enjoy it. It is rather dense, but I thought the story was perfect. Have a great reading week, Nicole!

It’s my first one too. Looking at other comments it seems as if long time readers think this is a lesser book. That’s good for us, since it means we have even more to look forward to with her others!

  3. Elizabeth says:

    Enjoy your books.

I am reading THE LOST ART OF MIXING.

The blurb for The Dark Rose has my attention, glad to know you thought it was good! Have a great week of reading.

    • Nicole Bonia says:

Yes. I loved it, though it took me quite awhile to get to it. The paperback is out at the end of this month and Erin Kelly has another book out in February!

I fell in love with Sharon Kay Penman one summer years ago when I wasn’t paid until the last day of the month, was living away from home, and the local library restricted me to 2 books per week. Longing for books I couldn’t afford, I saw one of hers for sale for $1 and chose it because I like fat historicals and hoped to make it last a week. I have never enjoyed a book so much that I forced myself to read slowly! Somehow I missed this one so am doubly pleased to see you reading it.

    • Nicole Bonia says:

What a great story. I think I am always looking for ways to get more books. With the number of books that I get for review you would think I wouldn’t buy any or go to the library. You’d be wrong.

Are you planning to read this one?

  6. boardinginmyforties says:

I’ve had a Sharon Kay Penman book on my shelves since my son was a baby and he’s almost 19. Yikes, I need to get around to reading it!

    • Nicole Bonia says:

I’m curious. Which one do you have? This was my first time reading her. I would like to read some of the others.

      • boardinginmyforties says:

I have Sunne in Splendour (I think it is called). Funnily enough I can remember where I bought it (Crown books). My son was in a stroller and he’s almost 19! I’m embarrassed that it has languished on my shelves for so long!

        • Nicole Bonia says:

It make me wonder what the oldest books on my shelf is. I’ll have to check it out. I have been purging lately, so maybe I don’t have one that old.
