I love this review. After being introduced by a co-worker, I read this book twice about 15 years ago and considered it one of my favorites. I have recently introduced Kindred to my audiobook club and love the way that the narrator presents it. I plan on reading your review to start our upcoming meeting and hope to set off the night. Yesterday I picked up a book my girlfriend got last semester for an English Project, and I just finished it. Groundbreaking. Honestly.

I only heard about this book sometime last week and it immediately made me want to read it. I finished it today and I'm so impressed by it. I just finished reading “Kindred” a couple of days ago. It was assigned as part of my poli sci coursework, but I couldn’t put it down. I completely agree with what you have said. “Kindred” is a powerful, complex novel.

I think this was the most powerful part of the review for me: "The absurdity and horror of slavery should have been some awful science fiction alternate universe, but alas, that part was actually real."
