I often get lots of funny phrases and questions in my search terms and I always say that one day I will do a post on them. Something about this latest one prompted me to seize the day. When you come to Linus with questions, you get answers!
Why do witches like Wednesday?
I don’t know that all witches like Wednesday, but in The Wednesday Witch, by Ruth Chew (one of my favorite books of all time), the witch was partial to Wednesday because it was the day on which she had been born, and as a result her powers were stronger on that day more so than any other day. Any spell that she wanted to cast would work better than it normally would otherwise.
If there were one day of the week where you were guaranteed to get more bang for your buck, wouldn’t you like it too? When you follow this logic there are indeed a number of witches who will enjoy Wednesday, but I would hazard a guess that a good number of them enjoy Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday as well. I’m partial to Thursday myself.
Not that I’m implying that I am a witch or anything. Just saying. What’s your favorite day of the week? Is the day you were born special to you or do you have another day when your mojo is in top form?

My powers are the strongest on Mondays. Oh, I mean, I like Mondays.
I will have to watch to se how you wield you magic on Monday. Maybe that’s how you explain your awesome Mailbox Mondays!
I don’t like Mondays (but I do like that song). I am a Friday girl. Which I guess is boring because doesn’t everyone? I clean my house that day, which is a drag, but then I’m happy to be free of the dust. I’m not really sure if my blogging mojo is better on Friday. I think blogging mojo has everything to do with whether I am drinking a glass of wine.
Fridays are hard for me because I am usually crashing by the end of the week. I am always up for a glass of wine though.
How have I never heard of The Wednesday Witch? I’m going to go look that up now, it sounds like one I might want to read with my daughter. Not that I’m trying to make her into a witch or anything.
I was born on a Monday, as were both my kids, and it’s probably my least favorite day of the week! My favorite day is Saturday, the only day when I don’t have to go ANYWHERE!

Wednesdays tend to be good for me, too. Probably because it’s the calm before the Thursday/Friday storm at work.

I rarely seem to get cute or unusual requests that lead to my blog, but I always look for them in hopes that one day, I too, will be able to write a post about them.

My favorite day of the week is probably Friday. On the weeks I have to work Fridays, it’s the last day before the weekend and there’s that anticipation of having a couple of days off (if I’m not scheduled to work OT. Plus it’s a shorter day for me. On the Fridays I do not work, well, it means it’ll be a long weekend. Can’t beat that!

I was born on a Tuesday but it is definitely not my favorite day of the week. I’m partial to Saturdays…no work for me and I tend to get up a bit later and have more energy!
