Literary Feasts: Evil?, by Timothy Carter

Literary Feasts2 225x300 Literary Feasts: Evil?, by Timothy CarterI wanted to do an interview one of the authors of the books competing in the upcoming Nerds Heart YA Tournament which was created last year as a YA to find and publicize underrepresented writers in YA.  I was a judge last year and passed the winning book onto the final round.  Tis year I am very excited to be judging one of the first rounds with my friend Meg, from Write Meg!

In preparation for an interview, I just finished Timothy Carter’s Evil?, and will be sending a few questions for him to answer, but I couldn’t resist doing a quick post of just about the only food that I found in the book.  Donuts!

More particularly Boston crème donuts are what Stuart brings when he visits his demon friend.

Fon Pyre gave me a dirty look, then he dug into his Boston crème. Obviously he expected to fool me with that whole “we’re best pals” bit.  Clearly he doesn’t know me as well as he thinks he does.

I love the plain glazed donuts and jelly donuts. What are your favorites?

This post will be included in the Weekend Cooking feature over at Beth Fish Reads.  You should check that out.  It’s yummy!

I REALLY wanted to go to Doughnut Plant while I was in NYC, but never made it. Next time! My favorites are cake doughnuts – the glazed ones…

You are making me want to run out to Dunkin Donuts right now. I love Boston Cremes although lately I’ve been a Vanilla Creme fan.

  12. My favorites are cake doughnuts – either glazed, or cinnamon sugar. I actually like doughnut holes, or “munchkins”, better than the actual doughnut itself. Although if I had to make a more decadent choice, I’d go with Boston Creme!

  16. You just had to include those delectable pictures, didn’t you? Now, I’m going to have to spend the whole day talking myself out of driving down to Krispy Kreme. Their chocolate-covered custard filled donuts are TO DIE FOR. My absolute favorite. Hmmm … where did my car keys go?
