Musing Mondays: Holiday Reading

Musing Mondays: Holiday ReadingWith the holiday season now upon us, how does it affect your reading? Do you have more, or less, time to read at Christmas? Do you read Christmas themed/related books?

I definitely have less time now for reading. Between holiday parties and seeing friends before they go off to celebrate with their families and then spending time with my own family, I don’t have as much time as I would like, to read. This week is a prime example. With the exception of tonight, I have something to do after work every day this week, which will probably have me out til at least 10 at night. Not much time to read or blog.

I usually don’t read Christmas books.  I would like to at least read A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens since I never have before, but it more than likely will not be this year, and when I get around to it, it probably won’t be at a holiday time.

What about you?  More or less time for reading? Holiday books?

I don’t do holiday books either — I have too many other books to read!

I don’t usually read holiday-themed books – I’d rather work on my TBR pile that is always growing!

  3. Funny, I just wrote about this topic on my blog not ten minutes ago. http://rosecityreader.blogspot.com/2008/12/christmas-thought-of-day.html
By the way — The Boxcar Children is also one of my favorite books. Oh, how I wanted to be an orphan and live in a boxcar when I was a kid!

  4. Oh, and the short answer is that I do not always read holiday books, but I have a couple in mind for this year that appeal to me.

I’ve never read A Christmas Carol, but hope to someday. I tend to read less during the holidays.

I’m an old fuddy duddy. I’d much rather read than go out. Have fun.
    My post is up now.
