Reading the Read-a-Thon: A List!

Reading the Read a Thon: A List!Next Sunday this time I will be recovering from the the Read-A Thon.  I think that this will be my third one.  Each time I have been a reader and a cheerleader, and originally- this time around I was going to just cheerlead, but reading is just too much fun. So once again I will be juggling my duties.

Very Tentative Reading List:

  • The Carnivore, by Mark Sinnet
  • Cranioklepty, by Colin Dickey
  • Crossing Wires, by Rosy Thornton
  • Dreaming Anastasia, by Joy Preble
  • The Maze Runner, by James Dashner
  • Shelf Discovery, Laura Skurnick
  • Wait Until Twilight, by Sang Pak

I already know that I never pay much attention when I make lists like this, so don’t be surprised when I read something completely different.  That being said, I do really want to read these, so maybe this time will be different.

I’ve had Crossed Wires for way too long, and I feel bad. I need to get to that one sometime soon!

I’ve never been able to participate in the past but I want to this time. I’m still deciding if I can.

Crossed Wires may be a fast read since it doesn’t have require brain work but it also doesn’t have much action. I can only think of one or two scenes that really moved.

I want to read The Carnivore too but I don’t own a copy of it and won’t be able to get it before this weekend. I look forward to your review of it though.

I’m doing both again too. Hopefully by time the next one rolls around I’ll have high speed and then I can cheer longer!! I just compiled my list today. Yours looks great!

Best of luck with the read-a-thon. I haven’t participated in one, but I always enjoy reading the posts and seeing people’s pictures of their snacks and supplies and reading chairs for the event.

I cheered and read last time, but this Sat I’m going to be out of town attending a book festival. Good luck and have fun!

Great list! You have a good variety. I’m going to try that juggling thing this time too. But I so loved to cheer.

I’m the same way as you are about lists–sometimes making a list of books to read just guarantees that I won’t read anything I’ve listed!

Good luck in your reading quest this Saturday. I’m going to read and do a little cheerleading too. The only book on your list I’ve read is Crossed Wires. I really liked it. It starts slow but the author gives plenty of time for the characters to develop.

I’m one to make a list, but I limited myself for this to just making a list of could-reads not will-reads. I don’t know what mood I’ll be in!

I haven’t made a list. I think that I’m just going to wing it. Looks like you’ve got some great books there. Good luck on Saturday!

  15. Meghan says:

Your list looks great! I ordinarily struggle with following through on lists, but I have a nice little stack of books I can’t wait to read, so I think I will manage this time.

This is a great list you have going here! I enjoyed Dreaming Anastasia, it was a cute quick read….it would be good if you’re looking for something light and easy to break up some more difficult or darker books. I just started The Maze Runner last night. I’m hoping to finish it up before the Readathon begins on Saturday.

    Good luck!

Great list! This will be my second readathon. Last time I pulled like 10 books and only finished 1. We’ll see how this year goes. I hope to post my list and The Girl’s tonight. Thank goodness she’s feeling better because I didn’t want to miss going to Serena’s and having a reading party. LOL
