  1. I LOVED the Kathy Reichs books. I would definitely recommend reading them in order; older copies of paperback versions can usually be found at used book stores for cheap & libraries generally have them, too. Tempe in the books is very different from Tempe in Bones; I think I’ve read Reichs say that Bones Tempe is a younger version, while book Tempe is older. I’ve never watched an episode, but Bones is now on Netflix, so I plan on going back & watching from the beginning. Search my blog or click on one of the “Temperance Brennan” labels to see all my reviews of the books.

    • Yes, Bones is the younger version of Tempe. I got the feeling that I might have been more invested had I started in the beginning and knew all of the players a bit more. In the one that I read her ex-husband was hanging out with her and Ryan (is that his name?) was away in Canada and I didn’t have any thoughts either way about her relationships with either of them. I was interested in the tension that was going on with her daughter. At some point in all of my reading I will investigate more thoroughly. I have 206 Bones on audio, but I may go back and read from the beginning before I listen to them. I am curious to see what you will think of the show. Keep me posted Joanna!

  2. I have to say that while I love Bones, that trailer didn’t really do much for me. It was really just Booth and Brennan making moon eyes at each other.

Will happily read all of your Bones posts, though!

    • I know…very little substance, but since I am in the middle of a Bones drought I will take what I can get. Can you believe almost two more months?

  3. I’ve seen a couple of episodes. Hey did you know that there is a new series on cable that’s based upon Tess Gerritsen’s novels? That ought to be interesting.

    • You know, I haven’t read any of Tess Gerritsen’s novels, but I have been hearing about the series. I will be definitely looking to see how they are received when they start up.

  4. Yay, yay! I just love that we both posted about Bones on the same day. :)

I absolutely love Bones. One of my favorite shows. I read a lot of the Books before the show aired actually. Character on show is a bit diffrent than In the books but I actually like that they are. Read the books in order. You will like them better that way.

  6. I enjoy this show as well. I watch on DVD though, so I’ve got to get through season four then season five when it come out. By the time I do that I’ll be able to pick up on next season :)

  7. I’m working my way through Season 5 right now after watching the first 4 seasons this summer. I am in love with this show. Not sure I want to watch the trailer yet though.

I’m so out of the loop! I haven’t read the books or seen the TV show. I’ve had quite a few people tell me they love it so I should check it out. I think the guy who plays the main character is HOT!

  9. Bones is one of those shows that I feel like I should be watching. Maybe one of these days I’ll catch it in reruns. ;D I’m a HUGE fan of both actors if that counts. I completely forgot the show was based on those books! I think I had someone recommend them to me, but I never got around to reading them. Maybe I’ll pick them up when I get around to picking up the Castle books. ;)

  10. I can’t wait either – I really want Booth and Bones to truly “hook up” but we’ll see. Thanks for posting!

  11. I’m a huge Kathy Reichs fan, so I was really disappointed the first time I saw BONES. I was expecting the t.v. Tempe to be just like the book t.v. and she’s just … not. Once I told myself that the books and the t.v. show are two ENTIRELY different things, I enjoyed the show a lot more. I’m still not wild about the actress playing Tempe, but I love, love, love me some Booth! Yum.

  12. Oh you know I’ll be here, ready to discuss all things Seeley and Temperance! After that scorching parting gaze between those two, I can’t wait for it to come back on my TV! I’ve been rewatching the first seasons on Netflix, who has the first 4 on Watch Instantly, and I’m falling for them all over again. They are just too too hot! ^_^

    • That scorching gaze was something else! It makes it all the more wtf?, the direction that they are seemingly taking. The Bones recap post might not be a pretty place to be!

  13. I love Bones and am looking forward to seeing what they have planned by jumping ahead.

  15. I haven’t read any of the books but I do watch the series. I’ve noticed they’ve gotten a new editor since the first and second seasons… who will do a bunch of montages to explain what’s going on without having to stop the action. It’s really cinematic and wonderful.
