Heather, from Age 30+…A Lifetime of Books has posted the sign up post for our readalong of The Color Purple this month. Signing up is super easy, as is this readalong. Just comment that you will be reading with us on Heather’s post.
Heather will have a discussion post with a few question about the book for us to ponder mid-month , and I will have a wrap up post at the end of the month where we can share some final thoughts and post links to any discussion posts or reviews.
Heather says we get bonus points if we watch the movie and read the book! I plan to do both.

This is definitely tempting.
Veens´s last [type] ..Hugh and Bess by Susan Higginbotham
Be tempted! So far it is really good. I hate that I didn’t read it before now.
I’m so looking forward to this! Finally, I can dust that book!
Aths´s last [type] ..Friday Finds – July 02- 2010
I feel the same way. I am only a couple of pages in and I am already hooked and into this story. It is so good, but so sad. I am glad that you are joining us!
Count me in! I can’t wait to start!
Did you start? The book just jumps right in. It’s so good right away.
I’ll revisit the book through everyone’s posts.
Beth F´s last [type] ..Featuring The Blessings of the Animals by Katrina Kittle
I can’t believe I am just reading this one now. It definitely gets right to the story. Already a little heartbroken.
I’ll be doing both, too.
Sweet! I am curious to see what the experience will be like reading these books at around the same time.
Man–I really want/need to read this book! I have so many obligations right now but maybe, just maybe, I will find the time because I would really like to join this readalong.
Stephanie´s last [type] ..Book Review- My Fair Lazy
it definitely grabs you right away Stephanie. I was hooked from the first couple of pages and already a bit heartbroken for the characters. Am I tempting you?
Hope you “enjoy” the book – it’s one of the saddest, most thought-provoking books I read last year, and I just felt awful for the protagonist.
I’ve not seen the movie, but most people have said it does the book justice, so hope the bonus points work for you

I can already see how “enjoy” is not quite the word that you want to use with this book. So far it is gripping and thought provoking and I think I will be glad that I have read it.
Ok, I have decided to join this read-along. You convinced me Nicole. As soon as I finish my current read, I’ll be starting this one.
