I watched the trailer for Thor a few times because quite frankly I had no idea what was going on. First it seemed to be modern and possibly having something to do with present day Afghanistan, and then it seemed ancient. I finally figured out that it will probably exploring Norse god Thor being kicked out of his homeland and cast down to Earth to suffer us humans.
Natalie Portman is in the mix. She seems to be everywhere lately. Right now this looks too confusing for me to say that I would want to see it. It looks slightly bad, but then cast is decent and Kenneth Branagh directed. Hmm…
May 2011. Directed by Kenneth Branagh. Starring Natalie Portman, Chris Hemsworth, Idris Elba, Rene Russo.

it’s rare that I venture beyond the movie trailer phase, so I know that I probably will not see this one.
Oh, I’m such a comic book hero junkie – all the way from my teen years. I used to snitch my little brother’s comics and read them – after all I was a teen girl and it probably wasn’t cool to like Thor and the Fantastic Four and X-Men. LOL
Thor is a Norse god and the place with the other gods is likely Valhalla. He has this hammer and it can do all kinds of damage. Yes, I will likely see this movie because as I said, comic book hero junkie (or should I say graphic novel – they are still comics to me!).

I have read some a little bit of Norse mythology and I remember Thor, Freya and of course Loki. I didn’t realize that they had been made into comic, but of course I should not be surprised, since almost everything else has been. Des this Thor match up o what you were thinking?
This looks sort of ridiculous! But I’ve found most thing that Kenneth Branagh directs a little bit ridiculous

I haven’t followed which one has directed over the year. I recently saw the one that he acted an directed with Emma Thompson about reincarnation. Dead Again.
Weeeeeeellll, yes, it does look sort of bad, but that doesn’t mean it is! Maybe it’s good! I kind of want it to be good because I read D’Aulaire’s book of Norse myths at Christmastime, and I now want to watch something Norse-inspired so I can feel clever about my newfound knowledge of Norse myths.

I read a little Norse Mythology back in the day because a couple of chapters were included with some other mythology. The D’Aulaire book sounds interesting. I would love to check out something more recent.
I have seen nothing about this movie – in fact you are the first mention if it I have heard…. books and and watching all the LOST DVD’s have kept me from pretty much any quantity of TV the last few months. I do like Natalie Portman though….

Natalie Portman manages to make her way into an astonishing variety of movies. She is in everything lately.
I’ll probably be the only one to admit it but I like movies like this. Yes, I said it. I have pretty low expectations for movies based on comics so I guess I’m OK with it when they’re bad.

My taste in movies has taken a beating in the last few years. I used to like “good” movies, but now I much prefer to explore those topics in books. They just seem to be so heavy on the screen. I like rom-coms and shoot em ups now. LOL
This is definitely one that my son is going to want to see!
It definitely looks like they are going for that audience.
