Tuesday Thingers
I’ve been a member of Library Thing for two years, but this is my first time jumping into the fray of this meme. Tuesday Thingers is hosted by Wendi at Wendi’s Book Corner. Wendi welcomes new participants (like me!) in Tuesday Thingers. If you’d like to participate or see other answers to this edition of Tuesday Thingers, you’ll find them here.
I know we have looked at the widgets section on Library Thing before, but it appears that Library Thing has added an all-new widget building page, with more options than ever, including the ability to customize your widget, chose colors, animate your books so they change every 5, 10, 15, etc seconds, add your Amazon Associates ID, have your widget show a portion of your review and/or your rating, and much more!!
You can visit the LT blog to learn even more with their Widgets Get a Lot Better post!! OR . . . you can run over and play with your widget now by going here!!
Questions: Do you have a LT widget on your blog? If so, what is your favorite thing about it? Have you had a chance to go see the all new widget building page, and if so, have you built a new widget? If so, what do you like about it?
My Answer: I used to have an LT widget on my blog that listed all of my authors tags, and alternately I have had one that showed random books for my library. I like author tags because it is an easy and visual way to see how much of which author I have in my library and whom I have in my library. I like the random books widget for much the same reason. Plus it often reminded me of books that I had completely forgotten about. When it comes to arranging my apartment and possession and also my blog, I am highly mutable. I’m not sure why, but the time comes and I like to shake things up and try something new, and blog widgets and themes are no exception. Nothing escapes me when I want a new look. Just ask my hair. The widgets go on and then they go back on until I get the look I want.
I haven’t yet had a chance to play with the new widgets. I just moved my blog to its own domain and I have been tinkering around and fixing it up in my spare time. I had added an LT widget, but some of the code was conflicting and things weren’t showing up the way they needed to, so I took it down. I have to go and check out the new widgets and see how much they have improved. I would love to incorporate one if I can, especially if they now do so much.
So what about you? Are you a fan of LT Widgets?

I like the new widgit, but have not had a chance to put it on my blog yet. Have to check out all the options…
I like one with covers…tag and rating and such…not so much. It just seems like a lot of info for the blog. but we will see…
And welcome to tuesday thingers! it is always fun to find out new things about Library Thing.

I haven’t played with the widgets either. I didn’t know I could create my own widget until I saw today’s post.

I love the widgets!
WordPress isn’t super compatible with most of them, but I do have have a “random books from my library” widget on my blog. I’ll have to check the new ones out, too!

I’ve had to tweak a few widgets to get them to work to, and have had to remove a few as I still can’t get them to work – so I can sympathize!
Thanks for stopping by and participating in Thingers last week! I’ve got the post up for this week, have you re-styled Your Library lately? ~ Wendi
