Much as I've always loved Monet's paintings and know many of them by heart, I never knew that women were so indispensable to him and to his work. From now on, I'll see them in a new and enhanced light, thanks to Stephanie. I've just begun your book, and am being happily carried away to another world. Kathleen, I have seen some of his work, but I am not a huge art fan by any means. I always find the stories behind the art fascinating. It would be nice to think that some creative people have "normal" lives too, but I have yet to run across any who did in my reading!

It sounds like had many muses. I think his garden was his greatest muse of course. I love Monet's work and have never known or taken the time to learn any of the back story so this is very interesting to me.
